  1. 1. Should a "THANKS" button be added to this board?

    • No, I think it is not needed or would clutter up the display of posts.

    • I would like to see it before saying yes or no.

The mods are generally here more than daily though generally don't chime in on things like this unless they have personal thoughts. It is more tech folks involved, as it involves hours of work at time of site rebuilds on server, etc.

As the "I want to see it first" opinion is leading, I might apply the modification in a couple of days so it can be seen BEFORE we decide to remove it or leave it on.

By the way, I setup the poll so members can change their vote if desired.

While hard numbers are impossible to ascertain, I think that if a user bothers to register, they will visit multiple times. Thus I think your 90% figure could be too high. I believe that like many forums (of all types) we have an active lurker community who for various reasons do not wish to participate. 679 registered users have signed in this year (26.5%). There are only 121 who have registered and never signed in (8%).

Can we have a tryout week and tell folks that we have a new button.

I think a one week trial is reasonable.

Marcel,

Thanks for the reminder. Installing that modification is second on my to-do list and should get done yet this week.

While the idea of a "Thanks for posts" modification was worth looking at, the only mod for that purpose that I could find proved to be a disaster. The modification was designed for a previous version of phpBB and could not be corrected to work with our current version.
