If they see that you have expertise and know how much items of similar quality are going for, perhaps they will cut you a deal. I guess throwing out an offer, even a lowball offer and CASH - there’s a small chance even if it’s a small chance. Walking out the store with zero offer gives you zero chance. Do you think he would have considered $700 for that Black Fox? The ad was posted under his wife's account on facebook, and she never actually responded to the ad, I just showed up there Saturday morning to check things out... In all honesty, id probably grab the mens beaver jacket.. the fur on that thing was super thick.... beautiful coat, but $2000 for a coat thats 15+ years old is pretty steep... and not knowing how the coat was stored... Im assuming when Reiss furs closed down 15 years ago, this shop picked up the left overs... I remember going in Reiss furs and there wasnt alot left in the shop, so seems these are the left overs... the lynx looked like it had been squashed in between a few coats as well.. my lynx the fur is very fluffy, this one seems to be squashed and a rougher texture than mine.. The husband admitted he knew nothing about fur coats.... its probably better to talk to the wife, Ill see what they would be open to on a cash offer for the beaver coat.. Im assuming there isn't much interest around here...
Deezy Posted January 28, 2024 Posted January 28, 2024 I miss the days of seeing woman in the mall or grocery store in there furs I had a happy feeling in my pants. A lot more back then
Courtybella Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 I was at my local railway station a few months ago probably January I think, there was a lady wearing a full length blue fox fur coat, obviously a vintage one but it looked lovely, She did get some comments between themselves from two low interlect men idiots. But the majority of people didn’t batter an eye lid. 1
Courtybella Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 From my own perspective as a man wearing fur in the U.K. though, I tend at the moment to try and go to quiet places where I won’t see a lot of people, and then nicer places where if I do see anyone they probably won’t say anything. Last time I wore fur out in public we walked past a few people none of them said anything, nor really looked to be honest. I do recall one encounter last Xmas, I was paying for parking and a lady came over and asked if the machine was working as when she tried it wasn’t. She isn’t say a word about me wearing a fur coat nor really batter a eye lid which was nice, Since then I have lost some weight so I’m hoping that’ll increase my confidence wearing fur out in public. The coats I have are knee length coats so I’m not sure if that’s a little to much for the U.K. ? Either way I want to continue to wear fur and enjoy it, I’ve hidden it away for to many years. 2

After are importance of don't give interest. Important of wear fur in public, we have also the luck of hear good comments and watch good reactions. Enjoy it... Edited June 24, 2024 by kev86
X and Y Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 (edited) We’ve not had any negative comments over the past 6 years, and we’ve lost count of the number of compliments. As has already been said above, most people have far more important things to worry about than what other people are wearing, and at the end of the day, it’s your choice! kev86 Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Yes this is reality, it's depend how people are educated and also depend what country you live. In France I don't wear so much, you have much manifestation anti-fur and also peta don't help. I think in different countries, this is more easy, the Canada or different cities like New-York or Detroit, I talk with much fur lover who wear fur with easily...

I think that’s what we need to boost our confidence, a compliment from someone. Which part of the U.K. are guys from, we’re South Wales.

Depends where you are in Canada... out West (BC especially) I think they are pretty against.. same with the Banff area... where I am in Winnipeg, you rarely see anyone wearing fur coats... In the past 5 years I can probably count on both hands, and where I am -40 windchill is pretty common... I always go for walks in the park wearing full length whatever coat I want...raccoon, coyote, fox, lynx.. no one has ever really said anything to be honest... I had one woman last year when I was wearing a raccoon full length give me a negative is that real fur comment, she was wearing a canada goose parka, so I returned the comment that she had real fur trim on her hood.. she just stomped off.. Ive walked several laps of the skating rink ponds at the park, walking past several people, and no one has ever said anything negative.. lots of just plain hellos and keep going.... same when I went in the department store.. I walked in, looked around, left.. no one said a thing, or even looked... it was also -35 outside! I think the Quebec area, Montreal, Quebec City are very fur friendly, and you wouldnt even have to think twice about wearing fur and heading out!
Efferus33 Posted September 30 Posted September 30 (edited) I recently wore my newly acquired hooded mahogany mink outside! It was my first time wearing fur in public and I was nervous but it eventually got better as I was walking. It was quite dark and most people didn’t bother at all. They just went on with their business. I have to admit my coat isn’t something you wouldn’t expect on a men, the only difference being that it’s mink. I was probably the only one surprised since I discovered how shiny my mink is. Since I was nervous I choose dark paths but at each street lamp it felt like my coat was suddenly transforming into a svarovski creation. That’s when I realise how unique fur is! furluvgrl Posted October 1 Posted October 1 I wear my fur in public fairly consistently in the winter. It's only been compliments but twice. Once on my black fox fur trim coat and another time on my arctic fox earmuffs. 1
furrybob Posted October 4 Posted October 4 I wear a fur coat, every day from September to end of the following May. Although in the summer months I try to wear one of my fur (MINK) trimmed jacktes, but even then it's a bit too warm - due to the blasted global warming. In addition to my fur coar (which could be MINK or FOX), I wear a fur scarf, fur lined gloves, and a fur hat, (A total of 4 but I try to wear more items than that if I can!). I keep a spreadsheet of what I wear each day, and where I go, and for how long. Last year's session I wore a total of over 3000 pieces. Don't think I make that number this session. 1
