Cowshill Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Several years ago I bought this coat at an estate sale. I love it but am at a loss to identify what animal it comes from. It seems actually not to be fur at all, but rather some species of animal hide - perhaps an antelope of some sort? My husband and I just refer to it as "The Sacred Cow". I have included front and back views of the coat and also a photo of the label of the Swiss furrier who made it. They must be long out of business as I can find no reference to them on the web. I would greatly appreciate any information or suggestions about what might be the origins of this coat! Thanks for any input! - Cowshill
GreyHand Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Looks like buckskin to me, albeit antelope isn't out of the question.

furlvman1 Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Possibly ponyskin or some kind of lamb, it's the wrong color for kangaroo.
Panther10 Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Could it be camel skin? It looks like the same type of hide or fur that’s used in shearling jackets.
