Non-access to the gallery...

Dear WF,

Please can you help? I always seem to get into a vicious circle, nowadays, when trying to gain access to the gallery -- after signing in, I always get into a "loop", when I am asked to login -- and again and again and again, if you get my gist.

Frustrating...anyone else, I wonder?

Thanks!

Yes, it must be frustrating!

I have not seen this problem before.

What browser are you using? Is it Internet Explorer 8.0?

Be sure your browser accepts cookies.

Logging out, clearing cookies and logging back in is also a good thing to try.

Also try shutting down your browser and restarting.

If those don't work, let us know.

I doubt it is a "browser not accepting cookies" problem as he is able to access the forums. Anybody who can successfully login to the Den's forums should be able to access the Gallery as the Gallery uses the forums board for authentication.

This could be a stale cookie problem, so clearing the cookie cache might fix the problem.

One other item to check is: Does the browser accept javascripts from thefurden.com domain? The Gallery uses a few small javascripts to handle the necessary cookies to record authentication status.

no javascript == no authentication cookies == login required.

This is a tech problem that is way over my head. However, Worker and AK should be able to fix you up quickly I am sure.

Please keep us informed as to whether their ideas and suggestions work.

That is why there are 2 technical admins here. Because we approach problems differently, usually one of us will be able to find a fix that works or at least determine the cause of the problem.

Please let us know if any of our suggestions help.
