Lil Dragonfly Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Well we all know where to buy New Zealand possum and Nutria. How about grey/black squirrel from the UK and mink from the UK? Can't seem to find them anywhere.
auzmink Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Mink farming is not extinct in the UK, so I think the trapping of wild (previously farmed mink that was ALF released) is not a good political option. Not sure how much of an issue they are in the wild but..... As to squirrel, too small me-thinks??? Auzmink
Lil Dragonfly Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 Squirrel is not too small for fur. I have seen coats, blankets, collars, etc. made of squirrel. OFF is a squirrel fan
Guest Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Squirrel is great I understand escaped Mink in the British Isles are creating real problems in some areas. Unintended consequences but ALF and PeTA don't really care about that. OFF
Lil Dragonfly Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 (edit- looks like OFF beat me to it lol)
ReFur Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Coyote the buggers are everywhere! Beaver - very Eco damaging! Seals!! At Least the last time I read there was a terrible over-population problem.
Lil Dragonfly Posted December 7, 2008 Author Posted December 7, 2008 Also sheep in the Galapagos. They are killing off the poor endangered tortoises. I say we turn them all into sheepskin coats!

The northern fur seals are actually declining in population and scientists aren't sure why. Tricia
