That certainly rings true for BagBorroworSteal.com, a website that leases out designer handbags and jewelry and plans to add other fashion luxuries like shoes, gowns and furs.

 

Back in the 70's and 80's there were several places in larger cities (New York, Chicago, etc.) that offered fur rentals, but I believe most of them have closed or stopped the practice. This looks like another potential option for someone wanting a coat for a special occasion but not wanting to shell out big bucks to do so.

 

I thought the ebay comments were interesting as well.

Once many many years ago I rented a designer gown that I could have never afforded to own. It was incredible and will be one of my nicest memories as I set in my rocking chair.
