She must have owned and been photographed wearing dozens!  Butterfield 8 was perhaps her greatest fur wearing moment in her film career but I’m more than happy to be proved wrong! 😉

I found this link which contains a bunch of photos of Elizabeth Taylor in fur. And she has a few.  Now, do you think she owns all of them? Are they on loan from a furrier? Did her husbands or did she have a thing for furs?

I think she collected furs like she collected husbands. She was very much a woman of her time in that stars wore furs and lots of them during the 50s through the 80s. Some real beauties in that link.

What happened to her furs after she died?  She’s the only person I can think of who could rival Joan Rivers collection & love of furs.

Yes, Joan Rivers had some furs.  I don't think she had as many as Taylor.

Natalie Wood was another that wore furs often and had her own collection. I hope they stayed in the family and were  cherished.

Little off the subject but that is a question I have always wondered about ever since my first encounter with a fur. Was I the only one captivated by furs? I like to believe furs pamper the sensual and were more than just a fashion statement or status symbol for the stars fortunate enough to wear them.

Indeed she was the most beautiful! Though I'm not sure about her relationship to fur. She definitely loved it, but was there more to it? I mean, she made a movie centered around fur (Butterfield 8). Yet in the 60ies fur was just lifestyle, so it doesn't need to be an outright "fetish."
