Where are your Furs in Summer?

The summer is nice with sun and hot weather, but for fur lovers it can be months of anticipation for the next fur season.  So, during the summer months, where are your furs?  Do you bring them to a furrier for storage?  Do you keep them at home?  Do some stay and some go?  Do you have the right conditions for fur in your home?

I just put them in cold storage yesterday and I’ll retrieve them some time in the fall or when the temperatures drop. Whatever happens first

All my furs and pelts are used as floor rugs, so they remain in use year round.

We have several vintage furs that stay in the walk in closet.  Not ideal but they’re old and some in poor quality.  Likewise for the fur mittens and silver fox fur hat.  However the newest silver fox goes to the furrier.  The local furrier retired and closed down many years ago.  I had to send my wife’s fur to a dry cleaner where they transferred the fur to a leather and fur specialist in a major city hours away.  This year another furrier from a town nearby came to a hotel for a storage special.  I’m glad that the silver fox is at the furrier and will get a cleaning this season.

Every fur coat that is not shearling is in summer storage.
