Panther10 Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Look at the sleeves on this golden island fox. Is this just some kind of optical illusion or were they sewn on backwards? 3
FoxFurStory_35 Posted September 4 Posted September 4 I don’t think it’s an error in sewing. Just probably a unique sleeve style for that full length golden island fox fur coat.

Look at the way it bows out at the front towards the bottom of the sleeve. That kind of curvature looks exactly like the way a sleeve would taper at the elbow.
furlucious Posted September 4 Posted September 4 The sleeves are probably just wide and have a unique design at the bottom. It probably just looks a bit weird because it is hanging. Besides that, what an absolutely gorgeous fur coat...
Worker 11811 Posted September 5 Posted September 5 It could have been made by an amateur or an apprentice. Hey! People have to learn, somehow! Right? Another possibility that we have to rule out: Are you sure that the image is not an AI or a Photoshop?

Another possibility that we have to rule out: Are you sure that the image is not an AI or a Photoshop? I thought about that possibility but the metadata clocks this as much, much older. First appeared on eBay in late 2016 so this one is legit and we can rule out AI. Photoshop is also unlikely here given that this item was for sale on a merchant platform.
Worker 11811 Posted Friday at 07:25 AM Posted Friday at 07:25 AM Well, if it's not artificial, it's got to be a coat made by an amateur or an apprentice. Or, maybe by a designer as a test project. I'm not saying its bad or that people were bad at making it. I'm just saying that, if it WAS an apprentice or something like that, the coat might have been part of a training project or one of somebody's first designs. Like I said, how do you get experience, making furs if you don't make furs? Of course, some of your first works are going to be "off kilter" a little bit. That's how people learn! Right? I still think it's a nice coat but, like you, I think it looks a little bit "off" and I can't quite tell why.
