Cruellalove Posted June 10 Posted June 10 My wife and I are in the process of starting on our forever home. One of the big requirements would be a place for our furs. We have a modest collection, about 20 coats and multiple blankets and toys. So initially we thought about building a room off our master closet, they way we could put a couch in there for comfort and them do sheepskins on the floor and a rack on the other side for our massive full lengths we’ve acquired. We also thought about the same setup, but maybe doing a mirror or bookcase in the bedroom part and making it behind that. Thoughts? We still will have blankets and other mild decor around the house. But we want a place for that massive double sided hooded coat and fur gloves, fleshlights and such where guests don’t see them and our children won’t either. The main reason is now, we take everything out of our closet and then put it back after the fun. We just want somewhere ready to go when the mood strikes and somewhere the coats can be safe and secure. Any thoughts or recommendations? Thanks! 7 1

joel.leon Posted June 11 Posted June 11 This is a topic I've been thinking about a lot for my future forever home. I'm in a rental right now, and have my furs in the closet if dedicated craft room, with stuff piled in front so no one opens it incidentally. It's not an elegant or permanent solution. 1
syfr Posted June 11 Posted June 11 If you have the means and space to do so, I say go for it! It'll be a naughty feeling as you and your wife design the room 😈 2
furs limited Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Have you considered climate control for the storage/playroom? 1
FullLengthFox Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Very nice ideas. I thought about hidden storage of our furs, but a separate playroom would be ideal of course. 2

Special cause my mind produced the idea of a thief trying rob you guys and accidentally stumble into this secret room. He/she gets completely overwhelmed and loses track of time and doesn’t notice cause the sound in the room iscso muffled, how you and your wife return. You both caught the intruder bit decide to not call the police but instead keeping the thief as your new fur toy I added a AI image of a so called „fur sink hole“ to hide/store the thief for as long as you 2 wanna keep her/him 😉 Sorry my fantasy went a bit crazy. 3
gai Posted June 15 Posted June 15 That sounds like a dream room and a perfect scenario for you two. Lucky that you both share in that love of fur. Definitely go for it and take pics if so. Climate control would be a great idea, have them in cold storage naturally. Though as nice as it would be to display them all, I'm worried about all the dust and bugs and moths. I'm surprised everyone doesn't store their furs in garment bags. 2

We just usually keep them in a closet, our children see all of them, but they also don’t mention them to others. I can’t wait to see what we will do. I’m thinking closet off the main room behind a book case so the door can be wide enough for a couch inside of it. I’m going to run separate hvac for it and make it very cold. 1
LeComte Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Great idea! If you can you should definitely pursue it. I'd install an a/c. One reason is the climate for the storage of your furs, the other is that you got your furs to keep you warm anyway. You can use red cedar wood inside, especially eastern red cedar. It acts as a natural moth repellent. Though you need to "refresh" the wood with cedar oil from time to time, best not where the furs touch the wood. I also like the smell. Enjoy! 3
Worker 11811 Posted June 19 Posted June 19 I'll tell you my, admittedly eccentric, fantasy... I'd like to have a fur rumpus room with all the standard accoutrements but with a secret compartment in the ceiling above the bed. At the desired moment, you can press a button or pull a lever which opens the doors to the compartment and dumps about a hundred furs onto the bed and its occupants, below!
pnwhist Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Not a room but a cottage: A few of you know, in our old home, we had a reserved room across from the Master Bedroom for my wife’s and mine intimate moments where all of her furs were in one single closet and we had a dedicated full-length fox used as a bed throw behind the pillows against the headboard of the bed. Oh the memories. No more dedicated room now but enough property to start making designs and planning for an intimate cottage away from the other activity. May be a 5 year build but knowing the end results makes me make sure that the project doesn’t get dropped! …more to come. 🙂 1
thomas renard 450 Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Très belle et très belle pièce en fourrure vous avez de la chance
FoxFurStory_35 Posted July 6 Posted July 6 20 furs a modest collection?! That’s an amazing collection of furs! I’d say A/C and privacy would be the most important elements. Best of luck in house hunting. Glad you and your wife get to enjoy the sensuality of furs together. You’re living the dream. Cheers! 1
