A video game actually features a fur coat.

It's basically an item expansion pack for The Sims 2, but right on the front and back cover, there is a mink coat.

The official site (proudly mentions the fur coat in the description):

Pic from the back cover of the case:

Official description of the coat (like how it points out that this is tchnically fake fur ):

Yes, I love games as much as fur, so to see fur in a game is a real treat.

There are three "fur coats" in the game -all pallette swaps of each other, really- a black one, a white one, and a brown one. In the instruction manual, here is the description.

Fabulous Faux Fur Coat

Opt for the creature comfort of fur when you outfit your Sim in a coat that's a cut above the rest.

It's girls only so far as I could tell, which was a bummer for me, but it's fun to imagine still.

And imagine I have done!

Well it's a start, and it didn't take a rapper slapping his name on a rushed, shoddy game to include a fur coat in a game.

Awesome!!!

And the best part is....we can all see it is a REAL mink!!!!!

And the fur isn't even used to hide an impossible neckline (unlike Lulu's outfit from Final Fantasy X); it's just there to look gorgeous on its own.

Speaking of Lulu, cosplayer Yaya Han created an excellent costume of that character, and made a re-design that included some fox fur trim, very nice indeed. Here's a link of the gallery: http://www.angelicstar.net/cosplay/lulu.html

My favorite of the gallery: http://www.angelicstar.net/cos-images/lulu/lulugraveyard.jpg

By the way, has any one noticed the upcoming Xbox 360 game "Lost Planet" from Capcom that features the main character wearing a fur trimmed jacket? It looks the CG animators did a great job of adding movement and sway to the fur trim during the characters gameplay movement and CG movie scenes.

You go, Kate!!!!!

Um, who?

*smirks* Kate

That's my real name. Though Velvet Tigress is a bit more mysterious, I don't think people would take me too seriously if I used it as my given name.

Sims 2 is still too much fun. Loooooooove the furs. If I could sew just a bit better, I'd make an outfit to show everyone. Practice practice practice.

Then why were you refering to yourself in the third person there?

???????

She didn't refer to herself in the third person, LTNK. She merely told you why she chose the VT nickname. She can use whatever nickname or name she's comfortable with. Geez... I should've just used VT instead of Kate in my original post and avoided all of this!
