Smother Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 http://thefurden.com/cpgfd/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pos=1 If the link doesn't work then look for the photo entitled "Three_foxes".
Worker 11811 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I'm on the fence. I could go either way. What does everybody else think? I'm happy to see the membership engaging in a bit of self-policing! In my opinion, I would err on the side of caution and remove it. But I will go with the vote on this one.
AKcoyote Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I agree with Worker's opinion - The kids do look a bit young, but the context of the image appears innocent enough. It possibly should be removed, but I too would like to hear more opinions from the members first.
White Fox Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I had not even noticed that they were not women when I posted it. The reason that it was posted in the Gallery is that it was part of this write-up in a news paper. It is in now in our Library. We have had a link posted to it on site for a couple of months or so, but the picture was not posted here in itself til a day or so ago. http://vdsden.thefurden.com/fdwiki/?n=Pleasure.ILoveFur We will need to talk it over. Always good to have ideas from members - first off to show us something like this, and secondly to help us decide on age, etc. Someone with young kids of their own will see more kids and can have a better idea that we do. Thanks for the warning. We will have another look. W
punisherthunder Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I say remove it. The Fur Erotica album is near it. If some PETA whacko can put two and two together, then this site would be shut down...... Let's not take the chance. Just remove it.
Velvet_Tigress Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 There is the unfortunate side-effect that someone off-site or no may take the image and twist it out of what it really is, and try to make it into an issue of "And they showed THIS picture there too!" with something less risque from the gallery. While we know it's perfectly innocent, and I'm going to assume that most of us aren't going to look at that picture in an indecent way, like PunisherThunder said, "If some PETA whacko can put two and two together, then this site would be shut down......" The PETA whackos can also put three and four together and get five, and send their legions of mindless idiots to make problems for us. Just my opinion though. Velvet
JGalanos Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Personally, I had trouble guesstimating their ages. But I would agree with "better safe than sorry".
Zaphod_bee Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 better be cautious with our den !! Zaphod_bee PS: remove it ...
knittedcoat Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Having looked at the pic the age of subjects does not even register with me. I ilkle the right hand fur! BUT I concur with others views in that this pic could be construed to portray all sorts of messages - so better safe than sorry and remove it.
White Fox Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 A few things here. 1. There is another copy of that photo in our Gallery somewhere else I believe. If someone finds it please let us know. I may be wrong but 90% certain that there is one. I reposted because I could not find it and wanted to finish the transfer to wiki. 2. Sorry JG. I totally missed that one just like you did. It just looked just like three women standing there. I never even come close to thinking of it as kids. In fact the more I saw the photo, the more I liked it. However, agree, that it was questionable once I looked at it. 3. Sorry that I missed that one folks. That one is now gone from our Gallery and from the wiki write up area. Thanks for letting us know. And if anyone should find the second one in our Gallery please let us know. Thanks White Fox
Joe Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 What picture was it? I clicked the link and it showed a twentysomething woman in lingerie and a fox hat. *edit: after googling the article, I found this: http://www.splicetoday.com/consume/i-love-fur The photo is a random one she found on Google. I found the same image during a random search a few years ago. I hate when we get into these discussions, but appreciate the "self-policing". However, I'm sure Ms Rossiter had no malicious or 'illicit' intent in using that image in her article. J.
JGalanos Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 J. Dude, where have you been/what have you been up to? Long time, no post. Which side of the Atlantic are you on these days? Hope all is well with you.
Joe Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Ciao! I'm still in Pennsylvania, USA, as dedicated as ever to my life's work. I was in the UK briefly, and I did happen to be in New York for the huge blizzard at the beginning of March (with my huge black fox Russian hat!). I took a long absence from the Den, but I fear as the weather gets warmer I have slightly more time to idle about on the internet. It's good to be 'back'... J.
JGalanos Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 i n New York for the huge blizzard at the beginning of March (with my huge black fox Russian hat! 30 furs, a blizzard, and all you wore was a trooper hat??? Last time I was in New York I brought 4 furs with me, managed to wear them all while there (silver fox to theater, fisher to MOMA and fur district, coyote to the Apple Store, , and ranch mink to the Met) and left town with 6.
