The Snow Polo World Cup was this past weekend. And as all fur lovers know, this is basically our Super Bowl. Call it the Fur Olympics or better yet, the World Fur Classic (kinda like the baseball tournament World Baseball Classic, just rolls off the tongue nice).

 

I'm posting this to get some conversation going. We can edit posts so ill update it later. I've been tracking it on social media and I have a ton of stuff saved I'd like to post and compile.

Honestly, I respect St. Moritz and I like that you can see fur, luxury cars on the ice and snow polo there. It's not the kind of place that makes me dream, because everything focused on the aesthetic aspect doesn't attract me.
Especially since in Courchevel the controversy with the Russians is gaining enormous momentum, the reputation is tarnished...

I prefer the tranquility and authenticity of quieter places.
After all, everyone has their own opinion...

What was the controversy about with the russians. The war? Or something else.

Many minks, fair foxes, sumptuous sables, and a cherished chinchilla.  Thank you for the post. I wonder if the Olympics will bring out the Italian flair for fur.

Exactly. The Russian travel agency based in Courchevel invited Russian influencers and many others to celebrate its 25th anniversary. However, the videos on social media didn't go down well with the Russian soldiers, and even less so with Russian government.

I think St. Moritz will have a Russian client very soon, but unfortunately, when it comes to fur in Courchevel, the influencers weren't exactly big fans.

They missed the most important thing: the fur.

I have to admit, his sable coat is magnificent. The cut is beautiful, the work on the furs is incredible!

The chinchilla one is lovely, it's a shame he didn't go for a long coat...

Seeing men in fur is genuinely refreshing.

I don't know I thought this scandal was pretty stupid. They got mad that the Rendez-vous executives were partying then decided to make it about the war. It's just Naked Party scandal 2.0. Very dumb. I doubt it will have the same amount of traction. And now there's been a fire in Courchevel. 

So sad. 😢

Personally, I understand the Russian soldiers and the government. You have to be honest with politics and war...
Courchevel's problem is to have focused everything on the Russian clientele, when this clientele is not there, the economy is not optimal. 

personally, I'm not really into skiing and winter resorts, I prefer a St. Moritz style place because there are more activities...
I go to Germany a lot so it's still different.
