FoxFurStory_35 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 The vintage fur trend and “Mob Wife” era is in full steam and extra fur content is outstanding these days and I think we all can agree on that. With more young women wearing furs, I am seeing furs with the casual looks of baseball caps and sometimes sweater hoodies on. Now I prefer fur to no fur, there is no question there. But there is something that just doesn’t look right to me with a luxurious fur and casual ball cap. Like a suit with sneakers. Doesn’t seem to fit in my opinion. Also, a cotton hoodie that prevents the lady from feeling fur on her neck and face. A big part of a lady wearing a fur besides style, sustainability and warmth is to feel the fur. Most of the fur is on the outside so most is not felt. I guess I’m old school and love the look of the lady feeling the fur with the collar pulled up high. Or a power fox with a matching fur hat with her eyes looking through the guard hairs. Those ball caps also prevent hoods from framing their faces. What are your thoughts? Agree or disagree? If you disagree with me, can you still see where I’m coming from? Cheers 🍻 3
a_man_of_many_foxes Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I honestly prefer the more casual look. It’s an example of everyday life and not needing to be dressed up to wear fur. I wear a lightweight hoodie and mink jacket all the time. 2
WinnipegFur Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I kinda like an attractive blonde with a baseball hat on to be honest... but yeah I prefer the collar up, big fur hat on, and so much fur you can hardly see! 2
CoyoteFox Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Great comment/discussion... I love both looks! My wife didn't wear the furs I got for her initially because she thought they were only for special occasions, nights out, balls/galas, or the finest restaurants. She thought that she had to wear very conservative/classy outfits to coordinate with the coats... I remember showing her an 80s magazine photo of a giant fur coat that I love to this day, and her saying that she wouldn't wear that... I was shocked and disappointed until I realized that she was not talking about the beautiful coat, but instead about the "old lady"/"Margaret Thatcher" outfit that the model was wearing underneath... Of course I didn't see the clothing at all, but she couldn't separate the two and couldn't see herself coordinating the coat with anything else in her wardrobe. Only after she has started seeing more younger women on Instagram enjoying fur coats over athletic yoga outfits or "ath-leisure" wear that she has felt comfortable wearing fur coats in more casual settings... I would rather her wear a coat for a walk or to the local shops than a night out where I only get a few minutes with it on the drive there and drive home. I love the look of Moon Boots with a fur coat or fur jacket... My wife now has a black pair and a new brown pair that look great with all her coats!!! 3
Kay fur fashion Posted January 11 Posted January 11 (edited) This is such a good point. To me nothing is better than the luxurious look with furs. Completely dressed to the nines, jewelry, embracing the beauty and luxury of the fur. But that being said, there is something very sexy about casually wearing furs. Like oh I wear my furs so often I don’t feel like I need to dress up for it. It’s almost a power statement. This post also reminded me of one of my favorite photoshoots.
