Big foxes or expensive lynx/chinchilla/sables?

It's clear that this type of fur costs a fortune, but Instagram remains a reflection of rich and young people, while the reality is surely less glamorous because the wealthy in Russia are, after all, financed by a specific individual.

We're talking about 1% of the Russian population.

I think we need to remain calm and collected about all this. Spending the price of a house on a coat isn't necessarily the most important investment, especially when these people don't have the same relationship with fur as we do...

Yeah Russian lynx is so expensive. I’ve never seen one in person before but when I used to work at the AK fur gallery. I had asked my boss how much would a coat like that cost if I had one made in my preferred size? And would my employee discount be able to carve off a significant chunk of the price. And my boss told me it would cost about $210k.

ive never desired to purchase a lynx since then

Wow, the price of my house...

Your boss sounds like a gentle person, not narcissist. I appreciate these attitudes!

I don't have problems with rich people, just rich people who doesn't have a education...

Yea, Diana Lebedeva comes to mind. I don't doubt her death was sus. She had one of those lynx coats that undoubtedly was in the 100-250k range

Yea. And then there's fantasy furs like snow leopard or even into fictional territory.

I had a story concept once that was like special fur that could only be grown from like human or elf victims. Something more exotic/involved than just hunting

Ooh a snow leopard coat would be a dream. I've sometimes fantasized about a coat like that (using an endangered species).

Just curious, did you ever publish that story? Sounds up my alley.

Yes, after this, the fur world appeals to me less; these types of people don't interest me. They are unfortunately too often superficial. Proof of this is that this fur forum doesn't have any of those people!

So much money spent on fur to renew coats every year—I can well believe that some of them work as photo models for Vogue, etc. Perhaps their partners pay for the furs; it's a possibility that shouldn't be ruled out.

I think some women are happy to have had the chance to acquire the last pelts, which have a certain number of live specimens that are decreasing year after year...

Poaching remains a source of motivation for obtaining certain very precious species!

I wish we took better care of our planet so there would be no man made endangered species. I like to imagine enough  animals that know one would care about some of them becoming furs. Thoughts of making love on a polar bear rug or seeing my wife sipping champagne in her favorite lingerie on a tiger skin rug drive me crazy. No vintage, place the order with your furrier and within a year your making love on a Kodiak bear splayed out in front of your fireplace. The thrill of knowing such a powerful beast was humbled to celebrate love releases inhibitions but  pleased in the knowledge the species is thriving for future generations to enjoy if so desired.  Dreams of me in a wolf fur coat with Mrs. swathed in cloud like softness of only the finest lynx bellies... Sorry got carried away!

No, more in roleplays and such. I did do the hunting one way way back, where sentient victims were turned into a new kind of exotic fur.

It's something I could write out much better these days I think. The idea is more to amp up the danger of the hunt, while retaining the allure of something more exclusive

I have nothing against endangered species, they must be preserved if pollution does not kill them first. Zoos are created mainly for this reason.

I was talking about poaching in the sense that certain people are ready to spend large sums of money to own these rare skins...

Obviously, I am not against the idea of having a beautiful bear skin at home, certain species of bears are still thriving to allow themselves the pleasure of seeing some of them become toys for hunters and then magnificent and soft carpets for very warm living rooms!

I love wolf skins to accompany the warm atmosphere of a beautiful fireplace, a beautiful Canadian or Siberian wolf for romantic evenings...

I won't act like a hypocrite to please Peta, hahaha...

That statement is true even for people! From what I learned loss of habitat and pollution are more of a threat to animals than the fur trade these days. I actually forgot that back in the mid 60's my mom had a leopard coat. I know this will sound stupid but I never thought of it as a "fur" coat. The leopard had no effect on me unlike the fox wrap with those heavenly fluffy tails that exposed my love of furs. I also enjoy the sophisticated thrill of a mink but that's another story. Then there is Coyote , beaver , Raccoon, lynx and sable... oh wait I getting carried away again....

Yes, pollution affects humans too. I actually think China is harmful to the world. That's another debate...

Leopard fur has always been a way to display social status; it was a bit like the Belly Lynx of its time. I find it irrelevant in terms of sensation and emotion, although the fur itself is undeniably beautiful.

Mink and other furs offer more captivating sensations and deeper emotions, marking the era of our childhood. I remember perfectly the first time I stroked a mink pelt...

funny thing, I grew up in an age when mink coats were a popular prize on game shows. Unlike fox,( my 1st encounter with fur) I never thought of an animal when thinking about mink. I just thought of a coat most women wanted! I only learned mink was an animal when my sitter showed up wearing a mink trimmed sweater. I was relieved when I eventually learned fox and mink were raised on farms. The idea of raising animals for fur meant that I was not alone with a love of fur!

The meat that is processed on fur farms isn’t typically meant for human consumption. It goes to zoos and raptor sanctuaries. But there are other byproducts from the remains of these animals that go into hygiene products like makeup and shampoo, cleaning products like floor wax and shoe polish, and the rest is tested for pathogens and stuff.
