blakeymikey Posted November 9 Posted November 9 Anyone been too vintage fur garden in notting hill cos i do plan to go there at some point. They have plenty of furs and they look devine.
sta Posted November 9 Posted November 9 I've been. There are lots of great furs there. But, all very vintage and high priced. I was pretty disappointed. For a mind blowing experience visit Furs of Mayfair. I went with my wife last year to drop off a fur for repair and it was incredible.

Furs of mayfair will be more expensive cos there new which is fine but vintage furs will be more excessable to some.
Efferus33 Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Furs of Mayfair also has a great collection of vintage furs. If you’re interested in that I can recommend. They mainly had minks if I remember correctly but fur quality was great. The London fur compagny also has a collection of pre-owned furs (more than what’s on the website), with some fairly recent. Good choices there too. You don’t need to go to noble furs… the guy is very kind but most of the furs had holes there. 1
kev86 Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Yeah, I'm totally agree with you... Always a hard choice between a fur of high quality and a reasonable price... Personally, I suggest from London the label "Philippa London". the price is reasonable for a high quality of vintage fur, after this is a luxurious label specialising in clothes for ladies but maybe you ask them for a special request...
saynotofaux Posted November 11 Posted November 11 I’m trying to remember what that place used to be called, i went in there a couple if times, everything is ridiculously overpriced on portobello rd..there is a lot more furs further up the road under the flyover in the clothing section. There seems to be vast stocks of furs in storage that only come out in winter time. 1
kev86 Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Yeah, i understand perfectly your thinking. Always difficult to find good price for high quality ! I hope your finding the best deal...
Efferus33 Posted November 12 Posted November 12 (edited) Yeah, I tried a nice pre-owned (probably not vintage since skins looked sort of newish) hooded mink, great quality skins at furs of Mayfair that was at £1’500. Other new mink coats where more at like £5’000-7’000. A couple of months back VFG made a video with their price range but only showing the “minimum”. It seems to very easily rise up to £800-1’000 and looking at the photos some furs are very “altmodisch”. Still, If I give it a try Ill let you guys know. The issue with vintage/pre-owned seem to be that now there is a demand from people that like fur but aren’t comfortable buying new. So basically it’s often as expensive as a new one would cost you in Italy of France. Thats the price of sustainability I guess. Edited November 12 by Efferus33 Imprecision in original text
