kev86 Posted March 28 Posted March 28 I'm totally agree with you, it's a fabulous fur season, we are lucky... I wore my fur yesterday to going to the bakery, early in the morning was a great time to be wrapped in fur. The cold vibe is wonderful... Tomorrow, I will have a new opportunity to wear fur because it's a cold morning with a temperature of -2°C. i love enjoying my sunday morning with a fabulous fur walk! The next week is really more warm, not good for wearing fur but perfect for switch with a leather coat... Spring season is ready and my leather coat too!
WinnipegFur Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 Every morning this week has been cold enough for a fur coat.. unfortunately Ive got this nasty chest cold and trying to avoid being outside if I don't have to... tonites overnight low is -14 again.... my cold is breaking, and I think tomorrow may be one of my last legitimate its still cold enough to wear a fur coat mornings... stay tuned for adventure! LOL 2
kev86 Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Yes, we are waiting for your adventure, hahaha... The end of fur season is official for me. We are in the spring and the weather becomes really sweet and rainy. After fur season, the spring is perfect for leather clothes! 1
WinnipegFur Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 I did manage to get out one morning in full length raccoon again.. it was -10, got in a few laps around my park loop, no one else out there at all.. I havent seen the one lady I always talk to in over six weeks now... By the end of the day its generally on the low plus side for temperatures, so I havent stopped on my way home from work for another walk in a long time now... Early next week there are a few nights of forecast overnight lows around -12, so definately a few more days... after that things are looking pretty consistent on the plus side.. This has got to be the longest Ive legit been able to wear fur out due to temperatures being cold... -10 just doesnt feel like -10 though anymore once the sun comes out... I think with a little luck I can push my fur walks til the end of next week, after that we're looking at single digit overnights and highs around 9-10.. which even for me around here means break out the shorts... Winnipeg... fur coat in the morning... go suntan in the afternoon LOL 1

Cold period is really short in Europe and we don't have opportunities to wear fur during the full winter period. This winter has been really strange.. we never got snow here until December, which is actually becoming pretty normal the last several years.. but usually come mid march its on the way out and we get the occasional teaser +10C day.. we havent had that at all this year.. its been below normals for the most part, theres been snow, but not alot really.. it looks like alot because everytime it did snow it was super windy so its drifted it.. I could literally drive 10km outside the city right now and still cross country ski, although the tracks are deteriorating, the same park, I could also ride my bike on the road since its perfectly dry.. or I could walk around that lake there probably in a fur parka right now .. its -4 with the windchill.. mid week now is calling for 2 solid days of snow.. Im like the extenda fur season, but Im kinda done with winter now... 2

Got to wear a fur coat almost everyday really since December! These extra few days are a definite bonus, although Ive had it with winter now.. Looks like that Clipper coming Tuesday night/Wedneday is really ramping up.. looks like a mixed bag of snow and rain... its just going to make a mess more than anything.. Overnight windchills tonite and tomorrow night are -20C still... rest of the week with the system coming isn't that cold, but the wind will be there... 2 morning of full lengths for sure! Rest of the week maybe parka, then its +10 on Saturday. We will see what mother nature brings... 3
WinnipegFur Posted April 9 Author Posted April 9 Well unfortunately.. as much as it was fur weather, the cold I had got worse over the past few days, and I decided against walking around in the cold and make this worse... thinking season be done here... tomorrow morning is still cool.. but weekend highs are approach above +10 and even calling for rain now... I guess we wait now til those October morning opportunities again... 1

Pulled out my big timber Wolf parka and enjoyed possibly last morning fur walk for this season... Didn't see anyone during my walk, but I did see a group of people going for a morning run afterwards... Some wearing shorts... Yes shorts... Oh boy... 1

It's really nice to see the weather giving you the opportunity to wear your fur. In my country, the weather is really hot for the spring season, since three days their temperatures are very hot during afternoon (30°C). 1

This morning was comfortable on the parka, full length would have been too warm.. people in shorts.. Winnipeg is a weird place... Winter has not really left yet.. places north of the city got 10 inches of snow yesterday..the 2 inches we got was all gone by mid afternoon.. people here get so sick of winter that the minute temps start looking favorable they break out the summer gear.. maybe tomorrow morning I'll cross paths with someone in shorts while I'm wearing a fur coat 😂 2

We get a good solid 5 months of winter.. a solid 3.5 months of summer weather..the rest is this transition stuff like we're going through now where it can't make up its mind if it wants to be winter or spring yet... I actually see snow in the forecast again next week now 😂 2

Heck I even went in the backyard in shorts and a t shirt to get the pooch in.... Still see some minus temps and snow end of next week. After the midweek high of +18 haha 1

It was +18 here today... just when you thought it was time to put the fur coats away.. nope.. tonite low -5C, wind north 30G50kmh.. windchill overnite.. -13C.. we'll see, but if its legit that in the morning, Im all in for walk one more walk in a fur coat... Thursday overnite and Friday same deal with snow... My theory holds..shorts one day.. that was me today... fur coat tomorrow.. LOL 1

Here's my story and it is my very first time wearing a fur outdoor for a trip and even received a compliment from a young lady! I have recently moved to the UK, and I was in York today, walking around the city and using this short, solo trip as my first attempt of wearing a fur coat outdoor (given that I am from Hong Kong, a place where there is no room for fur, due to the people there and the climate). Anyway, when I entered a vintage/retro shop in the town, one of their staff, a young lady, quickly complimented my fur and said "Nice fur coat" after saying HI. I was shocked and excited at the same time, as it is my very first time wearing a fur and being appreciated by a woman! We then started a small talk on my fur, and she said something like "I love/like fur coat", and keep saying my fur coat is beautiful and amazing. But she also said today was too warm for my fur coat, and I told her I want to use this short trip to build up my confidence of wearing fur outdoor. Before I left the shop, I once again thank for her compliment, and offered her whether she wanted to have a touch on my fur coat. Without any hesitation, she immediately touched and stroked the cuff and sleeve of my fur coat in enjoyment, and said something like "it's really soft/nice". I have told her it is a raccoon fur (should be a finnish raccoon fur or tanuki fur). And she even suggested me visit another vintage clothing shop nearby for searching or buying a new fur, which may also tell she also loves fur indeed. But when I left the shop, I just realized I should have asked her how she liked my fur coat, and if she owns furs... Me in my finn raccoon fur coat today: 2 1
