pnwhist Posted March 6 Posted March 6 (edited) I hope you get it @WinnipegFur! There is one Lynx in my area that the seller is asking $1000 for but it’s not really the type and look of Lynx that salivate over (think JLO in that Hustlers movie) so I’d probably only offer $300 if I had the $$$. Didnt you get a Lynx awhile back though? You greedy little son of a gun 😉 LOL Some of us have zero to play with 🙂 Edited March 6 by pnwhist

I find it funny how many furs sell on there, yet never see anyone wearing them... all year Ive seen maybe 3 or 4 fur coats... 1
kev86 Posted March 7 Posted March 7 The weather play with our mental health, haha... When, I watch the weather in my area, I will have the opportunity to wear my fur in two weeks. The price for the lynx is really good. i never understood why many people are selling fur coats and we never saw it in the street. it's really bad... Now, we are more ready for the next autumn and winter season.

As soon as you mention Jlo in hustlers, I’m like a moth to a flame lol. 1
WinnipegFur Posted March 7 Author Posted March 7 This was it... My other lynx are way better.. but this was still a lynx and would have liked to have it... 2

kev86 Posted March 8 Posted March 8 I agree with that, a good vintage lynx but missing a little bit of volume and fur quality. This is a good one for the price... Not easy to find a lynx coat in high size when we are a man.

I think this winter Ive picked up two.. another raccoon, and the full length mens coyote.. still impaitiently awaiting one of those 80s/90s full length power fox coats to make an appearance on market place... The one big Finnish raccon/fox jacket ive had my eye on all winter still hasnt sold, and shes still asking almost $1000 for it, and its gotta be 20+ years old... 1

I understand that the problem with people who are selling fur coat, people don't know how selling them for a good price. Honestly, $1000 is expensive for a older fur coat, especially if the coat is not in good condition. Maybe, you will find a massive fox during the year. This year, I purchase a massive fox or coyote, I'm patient for the perfect one, a great price for a good deal. Edited March 8 by kev86
WinnipegFur Posted March 9 Author Posted March 9 Walked 3 park laps this morning in my raccoon... it was -10, but a North 30kmh wind which nicely whipped the long gaurd hairs around on the sleeves... unfortunately, ran into no one at all walking.. funny I see people out walking when its -30, but now its -10 and no one out there... probably got scared since it was +3 yesterday hahaha See... this is why you need a fur coat.. you don't care what the temperature is!! 3
WinnipegFur Posted March 12 Author Posted March 12 No one out again this morning for my 40 minute walk... I must be getting to the park after the ladies I stop and talk with have walked through... It looks like about about 5 more definite heavy full length fur coat days for me... Sunday night is calling a -27 overnight low and a -35 windchill... thats insanely cold for this time of year here... it kind of warms through the week though... +3 high +1 low by mid week.. I don't find mink overly warm, so might be a mink day, or start pulling out the parkas... although lynx or timber wolf are going to be insanely warm at 0 degrees.... Looking at the overall long range, I figure I can almost push my fur coat morning walks into Mid April... as long as its below zero I call it fair game!!! Id definatly be happy to get a few more weeks before resorting to wearing them indoors until mid October again... 1
WinnipegFur Posted March 12 Author Posted March 12 (edited) Came across this coyote on marketplace... Was $1000, now down to $599... I asked for some measurements... if it fits Im gonna offer her less and see if she bites on it... cant have too many coyotes... So she mailed me back.. 51 inches long and 26 inch sleeve length.... thats right in the ball park... Edited March 12 by WinnipegFur 1 2

Definitely ask for pictures of the lining and high wear areas like armpits, shoulders, cuffs, and areas by the closures.
kev86 Posted March 13 Posted March 13 We are always happy to have more time to wear our furs before spring season. I watched the weather and the weekend is perfect for wearing fur and enjoying a long walk around the park. The coyote is beautiful and you are ready for a big collection of coyote fur coats, a real coyote meeting, hahaha... 1
kev86 Posted March 15 Posted March 15 (edited) A fabulous morning for enjoying our furs. i went to a flea market for chilling and met friends. The weather was great, a beautiful sun, blue sky and cold wind (-1°C). I was wearing my reversible mink fur and matching leather gloves with rabbit lined, a comfortable feeling and a beautiful sensation of softness during two hours... I met a fabulous older lady who was selling different items : diamond, silver cutlery set and more... She was wrapped in a fantastic reversible brown mink full pelts, high mink pelts quality. We talked about fur during a few minutes, a beautiful moment, she was so adorable... Always a pleasure to wear my fur coat on the street and appreciate the last weekend of winter season. The period is very good with cold weather and gives me opportunity for wearing my fur the next week. Edited March 15 by kev86 2
WinnipegFur Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 Looks like I'll still have some morning fur walks til the end of the month... I got out this morning in my raccoon coat and hat for a 30 minute walk around the park.. I ran into two new women walking their dogs.. Just a polite good morning to each other and that was all.. it was the perfect morning for a fur coat though.. -17 with a 20kmh wind so it was quite comfortable... the weather chnaged quick though and we got about 8cm of fresh snow and the wind really picked up.. the next few days are all over the map.. highs anywhere from +1 to +6 from tomorrow, then they flip again to the minus -10 overnight lows next week.. tonite is -7 so might be a nice walk in my Wolf or Lynx parka tomorrow... I Thursday/Friday are actually calling rain and freezing rain though.. morning will still be cool enough for a fur coat.. possibly pull out a mink if its around -5, but the freezing rain will make the path I walk on like a skating rink... See how long I can push the fur coats this spring.. right now its still cold so not out of place.. +5 and walking in fur though might look a little out of place here.. yes, +5 doesnt sound too warm, but after we suffer through -30 overnight lows, +5 is a heatwave to us... I would actually not be surprised to see the occasional idiot wearing shorts if it hits +6... 3
kev86 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 (edited) Yeah, the fur season is not finished. We have opportunities to wearing our fur coat during the cold morning... I watch the weather and tomorrow until the end of next week is good for many fur walks around the street. That's a great news for the beginning of spring!!! A fur walk with the sun and cold wind are a beautiful moments. We are proud of wearing it and the weather follows our fur, haha... Edited March 19 by kev86
WinnipegFur Posted March 20 Author Posted March 20 I went out of town today for some winter activities...I left home with my mens Coyote 3/4 coat.. it was about -9 this morning when I left..so it was comfortable.. I turned the heat down alot in the car so as to not get to warm... My plan was to do my winter activities and then walk around the area in my coyote coat... by the time I was ready to leave, the temperature was now +9... there were people running in shorts, and I saw 2 people riding their bikes on the road which this morning was snow packed, but now literally had stretchs of dry pavement... I put on the coyote anyways since I had it.. I stopped on the way out to take some pictures, but was just way to warm with it on, so drove home in a t shirt... tomorrow is not looking any better.. +4, snow tomorrow night though into saturday, and then the -10 lows come back for a week... Im gonna guess another week of morning walks and that will be it... by Easter weekend here the long range is calling highs +10 2
kev86 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 The weather and temperature evolution is really fast. The spring begins with sweet temperatures and our fur is ready to be confined at home during many months until we can have a cold autumn and winter... I'm happy, the weather in my region is very good for enjoying fur and long walks during next week, temperature announced between -3°C and 2°C. The fur season is really short but we enjoyed it so much for saving our precious memories.
WinnipegFur Posted March 20 Author Posted March 20 Well now the radar image for tonite is all freezing rain and temps dropping.. not looking good for any park walks next week.. most of the park walkways are jagged deformed ice/snow mix now which is going through a thaw/melt freeze... I can only imagine frzing rain on top of that will make walking a nightmare... hopefully a few more walks but not looking like things are going my way... On a sidenote, the woman that was selling the full length coyote just dropped it another $100 on marketplace... so now its at $500.... Im thinking about offering $400 and see where she goes.. 3 weeks ago it was at $1000, shes at half of that now and seems to want to sell it... no one is going to buy now here with warm temps around the corner... 2
WinnipegFur Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 Came across this one today on marketplace... on first site.. my thoughts.. I need to be outside in that coat with the hood up! Then I saw the price she was asking... $2600 That one will be sitting for sale for many years to come! LOL 1

LOL Yeah, the weather doesn't give you the best opportunity to wear fur, that's a bad news before spring season. The coat look beautiful with the hood but when we see the price, we are braking. The coat is ready for a long period before a new owner. Price is absolutely ridiculous, I prefer going to my furrier for a similar price... Edited March 21 by kev86 1
WinnipegFur Posted Monday at 09:54 PM Author Posted Monday at 09:54 PM Managed to get in a nice walk this morning in raccoon... it was about -6 this morning and a light wind, I thought it would be a little on the warm side for a full length, but turned out to be comfortable... there was only one person walking her dog.. just good mornings... I got the feeling she was thinking a fur coat.. its not that cold out hahaha Walking was a little sketchy though.. I almost slipped a few times on black ice, and the connecting pathway on the park road I walk on was a disaster of frozen foot marks, annd jagged frozen ice.. so I had to pick my way through that mess... The original coyote coat I was looking at the other day on market place ended up selling... I never did throw an offer at it.. I was just looking thinking do I reallly need another coyote.. Id like to have got it, but not the end of the world... as for the $2600 hooded coyote, price is insanely out of control... Id suspect the coat is 20+ years old as well... 2
WinnipegFur Posted 12 hours ago Author Posted 12 hours ago Happy to say fur coat season still going strong.. got in an hour walk in the morning, and another hour walk in the afternoon in raccoon... one night next week is -16 again.. its been a long time since Ive been able to wear fur coats because of temps being cold enough.. winter doesnt want to leave apparently.. itll all of a sudden flip and it'll be +10 though 2
