WinnipegFur Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Anyone been lucky enough to get out at all... I havent had much luck, temperatures are just staying way above normal.. Its generally cool enough in the morning to be in the backyard with the mink coat with the dogs as its around 0C.. Last week I did wear the raccoon out to the park... the temperature said -3C when I left home.. in the half hour to get to the park, it was above zero already.. I pretty well walked about a hundred yards and just felt.. nope.. that and I have to admit, I did feel it was out of place in all honesty to be walking in a full length raccoon and hat when it was still pretty warm out.. I do like it to be cooler out.. but looking at the long range here Im not seeing much in the next 2 weeks... but like I always say, they can't get tomorrow's forecast right never mind 2 weeks from now! 1
a_man_of_many_foxes Posted October 30 Posted October 30 I wear a lightweight 3/4 mink coat most days. The windchill in Chicago has kept the temperatures feeling similar to 30’s and low 40’s °F. I’ve received quite a few compliments this year as well! 3
CoyoteFox Posted October 30 Posted October 30 We've had similar frigid nights and I've gone out into the backyard to wear my finn raccoon... That familiar heat emanating from the collar as the fur tickles your cheek... Just feels right! 🙂 Rich moms in Toronto are all wearing long oversized faux fur coats this Fall for the cold mornings... Good sign of things to come! 5 1
WinnipegFur Posted October 30 Author Posted October 30 You guys are lucky... it was cool this morning..was gonna mink it for a quick walk, it was +2 and it started raining when I was about to leave so abandoned ship lol
Shy_Fur_Guy Posted October 31 Posted October 31 I was out and about earlier this week in 40°F temps and I saw a woman in an ankle length (possibly fake) white mink. The funny thing is that immediately after, I saw a dude out running in short shorts and no shirt. This time of year is so confusing.

LOL Im the same way... one morning Ill wear a furcoat around because its around 32F , and next day at the same temps, stupid me is outside doing yard work in shorts and a fleece top... 1
Efferus33 Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Yeah depressing. And were only at +1,5C global warning. My issue is that I love walking and at those temperatures after only 5-10’ my body is already warm enough not to need any coats. I’ve given up at this point, I just hope it will have gotten better by December. I was just happy to see a nice mink jacket this weekend. The women was attending a wedding, people had just gotten out of the church.
WinnipegFur Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 Looking at the weather I see some -10C overnight lows coming this weekend.... looks like an excuse for a fur coat to me! 2

I usually take out my lighter fur coats mid October when the temperature is around 10 degrees C mid day. This season I have mostly been wearing my black parka with fox trim (dyed red) because it is new. But I have also worn my new blue fox jacket a couple of times. They are saying this winter could be a really cold one here in the Nordic countries. Edited November 4 by FurSwede 1
WinnipegFur Posted November 8 Author Posted November 8 Finally!! It was -12C with the windchill this morning, but the actual temp was -5... got out for a quick walk in full length raccoon coat and hat... there's still no snow unforunately.. Did my normal walk, crossed paths with a woman bundled up in a winter parka... she looked me up and down lol She never said anything , then walking back to my car I crossed paths with an older husband and wife going for a walk.. neither said anything either... Went to the other park on the way home, was hoping to go for a quick walk around the pond but the shelter and lot were packed..so I just found a spot and sat in the car and enjoyed being wrapped up in a fur coat again... 2

For me it wasnt that cold out, it was more of an excuse to be wrapped up in a fur coat outside :) On Monday Ill change up the coat.. I might just wear my timber wolf parka and go for a walk.. maybe see her again... I intend on alternating my coats more this year.. I usually just wear the raccoon since the collar is so huge.. by the time the collar is up and the hat on , Im just surrounded in fur... maybe by the time she shes 5 or more differnet coats everyday she'll be more blown away LOL 1

Yeah, maybe she will have a different reaction from your fur style... Maybe this is a opportunity for you to talk with her about this reaction, maybe she appreciate it and she is curious about your fur and the feeling... Impatiente to read the next chapter !

Might not be so lucky next week... Besides Sunday night being -12 (Id say thats perfect for a wolf parka) temps are 8 degrees above normal all week... still no snow here either besides the odd little flurry, but its not accumulating anywhere... 1
Nexii Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Yea kinda why I like my parka. More appropriate around zero C than a full coat, which wouldn't get too many days of use these days. That said I do want to get an outdoorsy full coat. Conflicted

I understand perfectly, enjoying your wolf parka. now be patient for a real winter season with negative temperatures and more opportunities to wear fur... Tomorrow, the morning announcing 6°C, a perfect opportunity to wear my trench with full mink inside !!! tomorrow is just a little preview but I wait the winter season with impatience and excitement !
CoyoteFox Posted November 11 Posted November 11 We've had snow and freezing temperatures since Sunday... I've been out regularly in the finn raccoon with opossum fur liner for some added fun... Lots of compliments and lots of requests to touch the coat... Hug requests are usually from drunk women later in the evening... Channeling my inner-"Adventures in Babysitting" with the collar up! haha 3
pnwhist Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Oh man… now Inhave to watch that Movie just to get the Jollies up! 1

Does the liner actually hook in or attach or are you just wearing it separate underneath?

Does the liner actually hook in or attach or are you just wearing it separate underneath? Hi @Chrisfurlover... It doesn't attach to any of my furs, but it fits well under them loosely as its a vest and not heavy in the shoulders... The liner does have buttons and I've actually had a local tailor/seamstress create the necessary attachments for me to use it inside my favorite puffer trench... As this is the general forum and public content, I will say that "I bet it would feel great to wear it while nude around the house"... Great bounce and sensation as you're walking and things are moving down there... One would think... 🙂 Edited November 12 by CoyoteFox 2
CoyoteFox Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Here it is in action... It's rainy today... Unfortunately I think the worst of the arctic blast is past us... This Winter I'm going for "unapologetically cozy" all the time... Seems our fur fashion choices are aligning with mainstream trends... Fresh shearling boot liners every year so my bare feet are ensconced and swimming in fluffiness too. I get lots of compliments on my "fur scarf"... And I'm wrapped in warmth from the softest fur hug: 2
WinnipegFur Posted November 14 Author Posted November 14 We're in the middle of a November errr heatwave for here.. it was upto +9 here today , normal high is -1C, and low -9C... tomorrow is calling for +12 I did get out to the park for a lap in a full length mink, it was -2C but a little windy, so it made up for it.. Last nite was +2, went out to try and see some Auroras .. wrapped in raccoon for a few hours.. but was waaaay to warm... Gonna see if theres anymore tonite.. its still +2 out there... might tone it down to the wolf parka .. full length right now is just to warm.
FurSwede Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Cold weather has arrived in Sweden. I have been wearing lighter furs for at least a month but today was the first day it was cold enough to wear my full length blackglama mink fur coat. Loving every minute of this weather. 2
a_man_of_many_foxes Posted November 14 Posted November 14 If it’s in the 40’s (°F) or below, I’m always wearing a mink jacket. The wind in Chicago keeps it a little cooler. I’ve received tons of compliments this fur season so far. Hoping for a cold and snowy winter! 2
pnwhist Posted November 15 Posted November 15 We’ve only had one outing but at 4 degrees Celsius, my wife is perfectly comfortable in her full length Crystal Fox. She calls it her ‘chore coat’ during the winter months. The fact that it’s her “third favorite fur piece” gets me encouraged that she will soon wear her favorites as the weather drops even further. Last December as I was putting her mink away in the back of the car I asks if she was warm enough that evening - she simply stated, “(paraphrased) just put me in my mink and I’m off! See ya!” 1
