Pelts1698431643 Posted September 30 Posted September 30 (edited) I'm looking to move to Canada But am pretty sure I'll just be working in health care again. I would like to actually work at some short of furrier, and my question is can I start working with no experience (in relation to the job). I have 8 years of working in health care I'm just looking to switch my job around. Edited September 30 by Pelts1698431643
WinnipegFur Posted October 1 Posted October 1 I don't think its the experience or lack of experience that will be the issue.. its going to be more actually finding a furrier to work at... most that are left are skeleton staff and usually family operated.. there are actually only 2 furriers left in Winnipeg.. Gitterman furs, I think hes probably a one man show now, theres no need to probably have multiple employees anymore, and Chut furs who I goto repairs for.. Ive only ever seen him or his daughter in there, and they are very limited on hours... Ive often called and asked if they were open and get the reply not right now, but if you tell me what time you'll be there we'll come down! West of Toronto I bet you could probably count all the furriers on both hands less than twice all the way to Victoria... 2

Looking forward to them… I keep watching the weather, but its not cooperating in favor of fur yet.. we just went through a week of temperatures literally being almost double what they should be this year.. we had a solid week of highs in the upper 20s approaching 30C while the overnight lows were basically what the normal daytime highs should be... right now we're in a rainfall warning/wind warning... north 50-80kmh gusts later today, temperature is back around normal again though... the next few nights is tickling the 0 mark, but then we go back to almost 20 again for the highs come mid week! The American long range forecast has lows just below/at 0 and highs in the low single digits pretty consistent for here by Oct 17 or so... hopefully in a couple of weeks I can start with the mink... raccoon is just to warm for me until its -10 or colder... at least I can get the morning walk in, but I wont be wearing anything home at the end of the day with it that warm.... I kind of like when there is some snow as well to be honest.., just adds to the fun... 2
