dongleboy Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Twice this week I’ve been asked by shop workers if and when I’ll be wearing my mink coats. The first was a lady who works in my local Oxfam charity shop. (Thrift shops as our American cousins call them). She can never quite believe that I own 6 gorgeous mink coats and often asks me how I decide which one I’ll be wearing on any given day. Anyway, she asked me recently how long it’ll be until I start wearing them. Obviously, my reply was that it was defined by weather conditions but I did say I hoped it wouldn’t be too long. What amazed me was that she defined me not by the fact that I go shopping for out of print CDs but that I wear real fur. The second was at tea time when I went to post a little parcel at my local Post Office. The Muslim proprietor say he was waiting to see me wearing my fur coats again! Interesting that my little fetish/enthusiasm makes me memorable to people who otherwise may not find me memorable. Just a passing thought. 5
Tom1698431614 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) I have made that same experience many times as well. For example a waitress in a cafe in another town remembered me after two years. She even mentioned that I wore a sable last time while I was wearing a chinchilla jacket this time. Edited 8 hours ago by Tom1698431614 2 1
a_man_of_many_foxes Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I’ve had a similar experience as well. One of the tellers at the bank I visit downtown asked me when it’s time to start wearing fur again. The teachers at my kids’ daycare asked the same thing! I guess it’s very unique sight for some so that’s what they think of when seeing us. I don’t mind it. 3
Maine Fur Lover Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I had a woman remember my silver fox parka. It was Christmas time, and the senior class at WHS was selling trees, so cariad and I stopped by. One of the moms of the seniors was there supervising things. She saw me, then had a sort of "wow!" look on her face. She came up to me and said "can I touch it again?". "Of course said i" somewhat bewildereI... again? "I oemember you from Ha*****rd" [local supermarket] she said. "You let me stroke your coat there, over by the bananas". At that point, all of thore present came over to touch the parka and "ooh" over it, much to the amusement of cariad and I. Fut spurs such memories I guess. 2
