Many ladies appreciate it, always a great moment to visiting a fur farm when we are wrapped in fur... I don't think this lady continuing her activity for many years with the decision of European Union... 1
coyote 1 Posted November 21 Posted November 21 I have hunted and trapped animals off and on for my entire life: even tried to ranch wild fox, that I live trapped. As a teen I raised and sold rabbits dressed down or live; I also tried to raise duck for food. Starting in the late 1960’s through the early 2000’s there was a store in Keen Valley, NY that not only sold souvenirs; but their primarily income was from fur. The 1st time I walked into that store, I felt like I was in fur heaven. Seeing all those different people stroking, admiring and wanting fur. The store was around 5000sq. feet divided into different sections. Off to the left as you walked in was a room that was overflowing with every kind of pelt found in N. America. In the main part of the store there were mounts of all kinds, some depicting their natural setting (such as a squirrel holding an acorn sitting on a limb). As you went deeper into the store, that is where you could find his and hers fur clothing: jackets, pants, dresses, even underpants, etc. There was a sign that stated: we can make your fur dream come true. With a variety of pelts below the sign allowing you to pick out the type of fur for any dream creation that you desired. In the last part of the store hanging on racks were area rugs, blankets, and wall hangings: all 100% fur. As you left the store to the right upfront there was an oversized bookcase with boxes of small pelts and piles of single pelts, marked fetish toys; rabbit skins, mink, coyote, raccoon, etc. I can still see the excitement people felt as they had fun picking out the pelts, they wanted to play with. Stroking the furs rubbing the various pelts on their faces, and some non-chantilly rubbing the pelts on their pants, before laying the pelts on the counter. Behind the store there was a very large metal building; with freezers full of animals waiting to be thawed and pelted. A tanning vat, machines for fleshing skins, for softening skins, a large sawdust tumbler, a drying area, etc. Trappers and hunters of all ages and sexes who lived in the area. Sold both fully intact animals and their pelts to the store owners. Including ranched rabbits, foxes, etc. 2
