Hi All,

I just signed up as a new member.  I HATE fur coats, but I LOVE fur rugs.  I have a collection of fur rugs on the floor all over our apartment and we even wear shoes on them.  In fact, we have found that animal skins actual last longer with shoes than with bare feet or socks.  They also help keep the carpets and floor clean (the only time we take our shoes off is when the floor is not covered with a hide, or to put our feet on the bed or couch).  Sheepskins, goatskins, deerskins, and alpaca rugs are my favorites for high heels, Uggs, and sneakers.  Alpaca rugs and deer hide do tend be fragile but we've worn our Rollerblades and roller skates on them without any problems.  I look forward to future discussions and meeting others with the same interests.

Actually, some people do upcycle/repurpose old fur coats into rugs by cutting them into small shapes, and stitching the pieces together into nice geometric patterns, forming large - albeit cool looking - patchwork rugs.
