Vote against NYC Fur Ban in Online Poll

It's upsetting but NYC is proposing a ban on the sale of fur. Currently, one news site is talking about the issue in a fairly objective way and is conducting an online poll in which ppl who support the continued selling of fur are currently winning by a very small margin. Feel free to go on the page here to add your 2 cents... https://newyork.cbslocal.com/2019/03/28/furriers-protest-proposed-fur-sale-ban/

Looks like the tides are turning in the poll with less than half a percentage point between those in favor of the ban and those against it. With just a little push we might conceivably stop New York City from banning the sale of fur. Not sure if public opinion will be enough to change the legislatures mind but I don't know what else to do.

I wouldn't get too worked up about it. Fashion tends to boomerang no matter the trend. And laws can be unmade and challenged just as easily as they can be passed.

I wouldn't worry too much about this. Just another radical politician trying to get some free media attention. We were in New York around Christmas time and there were women wearing furs everywhere (and yes lot's of young women too).

Love this article:

https://nypost.com/2019/04/06/pro-fur-fashionistas-argue-faux-fur-is-worse-for-the-environment/

Quote from article:

“I would never wear fake fur,” said Chelsea Broughton, 26, a self-employed social media specialist who owns a fur-lined parka, a rabbit-fur coat and fur slide-on sandals.

“That’s worse for the environment. I don’t use plastic straws. I recycle. I care deeply about the environment, and fake fur is made of plastic.”

Broughton and fellow millennial Michelle Donnelly, 33, claim it’s a myth their generation hates fur — and they’re the example.

“Not only do I wear fur, but I also wear Uggs [shearling-lined boots], and I have bags that are leather,” said Donnelly, who works in logistics for the film industry and happily wears a $1,695 fox fur-lined parka, which her husband purchased for her from Midtown’s ER Furs for Mother’s Day two years ago"

Don't let the media get you down. Markets, tastes and fashions are always changing but Fur isn't going anywhere.

I just voted. I don't know what is going on but SF, LA now NY to ban furs? Whats going to be next. No eating meat, chicken and pork? Who is running this country? Or who is getting bought? We need to keep jobs. Who does PETA have got in their pocket?
