What fur does this look like? Vicu

I am not sure, but it looks like dyed sheep probably a shearling.

Some seller on eBay, a we-auction-it-for-you type of seller, said that their reputable vendor said the coat was vicu

It is obviously not a sheared beaver. Sheared beaver, natural or dyed, is much more uniform in color. The color variations are appropriate for shearling lamb which along with the texture leads me to my stated opinion.

 

That said, I am unfamiliar with vicu

Deinitely NOT sheared Beaver. Even well worn. TExture is not right.

 

It's close to Oppossum so it could well be Vicuna. Certainly a sheared or short haired version. My impression of Vicuna I've seen is of a longer hair. Not unlike its cousin Lahma and Guanaco.

 

All are Camelids.

I was going to say it was llama or alpaca but you are right the length seems a bit off.
